Bail Bonds FAQ

Plain answers to the questions families ask us most.

What information do I need when I call?

If you can, have the full legal name of the person arrested, their date of birth, and the facility where they are being held. If you know the charges, booking number, or bond amount, share those too. If you don't have everything, call anyway — we can help you work out what is missing.

What if I don't know the bond amount yet?

That is common, especially soon after an arrest. The bond amount may not be set until booking is complete or a judge reviews the case. We can help look up available details and explain the next steps while you wait.

Are you available 24/7?

Yes. Around the Clock Bailbonds answers calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights, weekends, and holidays, at (239) 288-7816.

How long does release take after a bond is posted?

It varies. After a bond is posted, the jail completes its own release processing, and that timing is controlled by the facility, not by the bail agent. No one can honestly guarantee a specific release time.

What is a bail bond?

A bail bond is a financial promise made to the court that the defendant will attend every required court date. A licensed bail agent, backed by a surety company, posts the bond so the defendant can be released while the case moves forward. The person arranging the bond typically pays a fee and signs an agreement.

What is a co-signer or indemnitor?

A co-signer, also called an indemnitor, is the person who signs the bond agreement and accepts financial responsibility if the defendant fails to meet the bond's conditions. Before signing, make sure you understand your obligations and ask any questions you have.

What is collateral?

Collateral is something of value pledged to secure a bond, such as property or other assets. Whether collateral is needed depends on the circumstances of the bond. When a case concludes and the bond's obligations are met, collateral is generally returned under the terms of the agreement.

Can you help with an arrest outside Lee County?

Call us. Depending on where the person is being held, we may be able to help directly or coordinate the next step, such as a transfer bond where available.

Can paperwork be handled remotely?

Call to ask what can be completed remotely for your situation. An agent will explain what is needed and how it can be handled.

What happens if the defendant misses court?

Missing a required court date can have serious consequences, including a warrant and possible financial liability under the bond agreement. If a court date is missed or about to be missed, contact your bail agent right away and, as appropriate, the court or an attorney. This is general information, not legal advice.
